You can use the UPS Address Reconciler to reconcile a single address in interactive mode or a group of addresses in batch mode, as follows:
Interactive reconciliation of a single address – When a single address requires reconciliation, the UPS Interactive Address Reconciler window appears and allows you to save or update the validated address into your Address Book. The UPS Address Reconciler is in interactive mode. For more information, see About the UPS Interactive Address Reconciler Window.
Batch reconciliation of multiple addresses – When a batch of addresses requires reconciliation, the UPS Address Reconciler window appears and allows you to save or update each validated address into your Address Book. The UPS Address Reconciler is in batch mode. For more information, see About the UPS Address Reconciler Window.
Note: The Postcode+4 Update Notification window may appear before the UPS Address Reconciler window. See About the Postcode+4 Update Notification Window.
To help you reconcile an address, two types of address candidates may appear on the right side in the UPS Address Reconciler and UPS Interactive Address Reconciler windows:
Suggested Candidates - These candidates appear in the lower right and provide alternative choices to the original address information. When you select a suggested candidate, the address information appears in the upper right, and the Accept button becomes active. To update the original address information on the left side of the window with the selected address information, simply click the Accept button. For more information, see How to Reconcile Addresses with Suggested Candidates.
Range Candidates - These candidates appear in the lower right and notify you that the correct address may fall within the specified street, suite, or room number ranges. Since you can only view a candidate with a range, the Accept button remains inactive. Use the range candidates to determine the correct address and then manually update the original address information on the left side of the window . For more information, see How to Reconcile Addresses with Range Candidates.
