The Address Validation and Classification Tool allows you to do the following:
Validate all US 50 addresses
Classify addresses as either residential or commercial
This tool does not validate or classify Army Post Office (APO), Fleet Post Office (FPO) or Diplomatic Post Office (DPO) Ship To addresses. UPS suggests that you use this tool to improve the accuracy of your addresses and ensure prompt and accurate delivery of your shipments.
The Address Validation and Classification Tool allows you to initiate two types of address validation:
Interactive validation of a single address - This feature allows you to validate an Address Book entry or a Ship To address immediately. UPS WorldShip indicates the status of the address and a list of possible candidates for the address. See Validate an Address Interactively.
Batch validation of multiple addresses - This feature collects Address Book entries that meet specific criteria (see notes above) and transmits these entries to UPS for validation. After validation, the entries are downloaded to your PC for reconciliation. WorldShip indicates the status and a list of possible candidates for each address. See Validate Your Address Book.
