Specify the Shipping Services for UPS Ground (Freight Pricing)

On the Service tab in the Shipping window, you must specify shipment and package shipping services for the shipment.

  2. To specify the package type, click the down arrow in the Package Type box and select a package type.

  3. Type the package dimensions in the Length, Width, and Height boxes or use the electronic dimensioner (if available). Your entries appear on both the Service and Detail tabs, and you can change your entries on either tab.

  4. Type the appropriate amount in the Declared Value box, as needed. Your entry appears on both the Service and Options tabs, and you can change your entry on either tab.

  5. To specify two reference numbers, type your customized numbers in the Reference Number 1 and Reference Number 2 boxes. Your entries appear on both the Service and Reference tabs (on which you can enter three more reference numbers), and you can change your entries on either tab. See Specify the Reference Numbers.

  6. Click the down arrow in the Freight Class box and select a class.

  7. Type the appropriate National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC) numbers in the NMFC and Sub boxes.

  1. Click the down arrow in the Bill Transportation To box and select who will pay for the transportation, duty, and taxes.

    Note:
    If you select Third Party in a Bill Transportation To box, the Third Party Address window appears. In the Third Party Address window, type information about the third party. Once you supply this information, the ... button appears on the Service tab to indicate you have selected a third party. Click this button to view or change the third-party information.

  2. If you select Receiver or Third Party in the Bill Transportation To box, select the Density Eligible check box on the Ship To tab or in the Third Party Address window as needed.

    Note: This check box appears if the payor has a Density Rating contract.

  3. Type the weight in the Package Weight box or use the electronic scale or dimensioner (if available).

  4. Click the Handling Units button to enter handling units for this shipment. The Ground (Freight Pricing) Shipment window appears. See Specify the Handling Units for UPS Ground (Freight Pricing).
