Set System Settings System Preferences

Use the System Settings tab in the System Preferences Editor Window to set numerous system settings system preferences.

To set up your system settings system preferences:

  1. Navigate to the Tools tab and select System Preferences and then System Settings. The System Settings tab in the System Preferences Editor window appears.

  2. Under Display Help:

  3. Select the Show Help Topic at Startup checkbox to display the Welcome to UPS WorldShip help topic each time you start WorldShip. Clear this checkbox if you do not want to see this help topic at startup.

  4. Select the Show Field Help checkbox to display field-level help for select fields. Clear this checkbox if you do not want to see the field-level help. See Find Help in UPS WorldShip.

  1. Under Change WorldShip Language, click the down arrow and select the language in which you want WorldShip displayed.

    Tips:

  2. This preference appears only for the workgroup administrative workstation and the single workstation.

  3. You must restart WorldShip before this change is made.

  1. Under WorldShip Beta Testing Candidate, select the Participate in Beta Testing checkbox if you want to participate in Beta testing the next version of WorldShip. Clear this checkbox if you do not want to participate in Beta testing.

    Tip:
    This preference appears only for the workgroup administrative workstation and the single workstation.

  1. Under Archive Data:

  2. Click the down arrow in the Frequency Reminder in Days box and select an interval. Your choices are 0 (No reminder), 15 (days), 30 (1 month; initial default), 60 (2 months), 90 (3 months), and 180 (6 months).

  3. Click the up and down arrows in the Days of Shipments Retained before Archive box and select the minimum number of days to archive shipment data.

  1. Under Default Backup Directory, type the default directory for scheduled UPS database backups. If you are unsure of the path, click the Browse button and navigate to the directory.

  3. Click the Apply button to accept the changes made on any System Preferences tab and keep the System Preferences Editor window option.

  4. Click the OK button to accept the changes made on any System Preferences tab and close the System Preferences Editor window.

  5. Click the Cancel button to remove changes made on any System Preferences tab and close the System Preferences Editor window.
