UPS WorldShip provides a choice of two processing modes. Using the Shipment Entry processing mode, you can potentially speed up processing your multi-piece shipments.
The ability to select a processing mode requires your workstation to include one of the following:
One Trade Direct shipper with a destination CFS other than the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, or US Virgin Islands.
One non-Trade Direct shipper with an origin other than the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, or US Virgin Islands.
To process a shipment using the Shipment Entry processing mode:
Set the processing mode to Shipment Entry using the System Preferences Editor. See Set Shipping System Preferences.
Select a shipper and a profile.
Tip: The profile must be created in the Shipment Entry processing mode.
On the Options tab, specify the shipment options.
Tips:
When you use the Shipment Entry processing mode, the Options tab shows shipment options only, and WorldShip changes the Additional Handling and Declared Value package options to shipment options.
The Number of Packages box does not appear for the Additional Handling shipment option.
You can also specify Saturday Delivery on the Service tab.
All shipment options selected are applied to all the packages in the shipment.
On the Detail tab, specify the shipping details.
Tip: When you use Shipment Entry processing mode, the Number of Large Packages box is replaced with the Large Package check box. Select this check box to apply Large Package to all packages in the shipment.
On the Reference tab, specify the reference numbers.
Tips:
When you use the Shipment Entry processing mode, the Use on All Packages check boxes are selected and inactive on the Reference tab.
You can also specify reference numbers on the Service tab.
On the Service tab:
Under Shipment and Package, click the down arrows in the UPS Service and Package Type boxes and select the appropriate services.
Specify any other shipment options, including General Description of Goods and Documents Only.
Click the down arrows in the Bill To boxes and select who will pay for the transportation, duty, and taxes.
Select the Split Duty and Tax check box if you want to combine the transportation and duty bills for one payer.
Under Weight on the Service tab:
Type the total weight of the shipment (that is, the combined weight of all packages in the shipment) in the Shipment box.
Tip: A shipment cannot be processed if the average package weight is less than 0.1 lb (or local equivalent).
Type the total number of packages in the shipment in the Num. of Pkgs. box. The total cost of the shipment appears under Shipment Cost.
If in Shipment Entry processing mode, WorldShip automatically selects the All Packages Identical check box and divides the total shipment weight by the number of packages. If all packages are not identical, clear this check box to process the shipment in Package Entry processing mode.
When you are finished, click the Process Shipment button.
