WorldShip® will enable and show the Infectious Substance Category A selection box if ALL of the following conditions are true:
You are a valid Infectious Substance Category A shipper.
The selected origin/destination combination is valid for an Infectious Substance Category Ashipment.
The selected type of service is valid for an Infectious Substance Category A shipment.
The Dangerous Goods option on the Options tab is selected.
The selected regulation set is valid for an Infectious Substance Category A shipment.
When you, (a valid Infectious Substance Category A shipper) select the Infectious Substance Category A, WorldShip will:
Select and disable the UPS Proactive Response™ option on the Options tab.
Disable the Shipper Release option in the Options tab.
Filter the list of package types within the Package Type field in the Service tab as well as the Detail tab and display the package type “Package” only.
Allow you to add up to a maximum of TWO chemical records per package.
Allow you to add only one Infectious Substance Category A chemical record per package.
Allow you to combine only one Dry Ice chemical record (UN1845) with an Infectious Substance Category A chemical record per package on the DG Reference #2 field as the second chemical record in the package.
WorldShip will disable the DG Reference #3 field within the Dangerous Goods option child dialog and keep it disabled even after a second chemical record has been added.
Allow an Infectious Substance Category A chemical record with either one of the following valid Identification Numbers only:
• UN2814
• UN2900
Allow you to add an Infectious Substance Category A chemical record ONLY (on the DG Reference #1 field) as the first chemical record in the package.
Note: WorldShip will NOT allow you (a valid Infectious Substance Category A shipper) to combine a Non-Infectious Substance Category A chemical record with an Infectious Substance Category A chemical record (with the exception of the Dry Ice chemical) within a package. If you do not check the Infectious Substance Category A checkbox, WorldShip will consider the package as a Non-Infectious Substance Category A package. When you select the Infectious Substance Category A and attempt to add an Infectious Substance Category A chemical record (DG Reference #1 field) via the Dangerous Goods Chemical Record Editor, WorldShip will:
Display “6.2” as the ONLY value within the Class Division Number field.
Limit the type of data that can be entered in the Quantity field to either an integer or a decimal number.
Display ONLY the following values within the Unit Of Measure field:
• g (grams)
• ml (millilitres)
Display “Passenger Aircraft” as the ONLY value within the Transportation Mode field
Make the Emergency Phone field a required field
Make the ER Registrant field a required field
Note: When adding an Infectious Substance Category A chemical record (DG Reference #1) via the Dangerous Goods Chemical record Viewer, WorldShip will display only Infectious Substance Category A chemicals if the Infectious Substance Category A is selected. If you attempt to remove the Infectious Substance Category A selection for an Infectious Substance Category A package, WorldShip will determine if the package within the shipment contains at least one Infectious Substance Category A chemical record and if at least one Infectious Substance Category A chemical record exists within the package, WorldShip will:
Inform you that the shipment contains a package with at least one Infectious Substance Category A chemical record and that the Infectious Substance Category A chemical record as well as any Dry Ice chemical record that was added to it will be removed in the event that you decided to continue with removing the Infectious Substance Category A selection.
Prompt if you want to continue with removing the Infectious Substance Category A selection.
If you continue with removing the selection, WorldShip will:
Remove from the package the Infectious Substance Category A chemical record as well as any Dry Ice chemical record that was added to it.
Uncheck and enable the UPS Proactive Response™ option checkbox on the Options tab.
Enable the Shipper Release option checkbox in the Options tab.
Remove the Infectious Substance Category A checkbox selection.
The Shipper Release option is not valid with Infectious Substance Category A shipments. WorldShip will allow you to create an Infectious Substance Category A shipment containing multiple packages. Each package within the shipment MUST contain an Infectious Substance Category A chemical record. If you do NOT select the Infectious Substance Category A and decide to create a non-Infectious Substance Category A package as the first package, WorldShip will disable the Infectious Substance Category A and keep it disabled whenever you select the Dangerous Goods option for each succeeding package.
When you click on the Process button, WorldShip will validate ALL the Infectious Substance Category A packages within the Infectious Substance Category A shipment.
Profile
You can create and save a profile for an Infectious Substance Category A shipment containing multiple Infectious Substance Category A packages. See About the Profile Editor. WorldShip will allow you (a valid Infectious Substance Category A shipper) to create a profile for an Infectious Substance Category A shipment with the following:
Multiple Infectious Substance Category A packages, each of which containing ONE chemical record only
Multiple Infectious Substance Category A packages, each of which containing TWO chemical records (ONE Infectious Substance Category A chemical record and ONE Dry Ice chemical record).
Multiple Infectious Substance Category A packages, each of which containing ONE Infectious Substance Category A chemical record only AND with the same Identification Number.
Multiple Infectious Substance Category A packages, containing both UN2814 and UN2900 Infectious Substance Category A chemical records with each package containing ONE Infectious Substance Category A chemical record only.
Containing both UN2814 and UN2900 Infectious Substance Category A chemical records) with each package containing ONE Infectious Substance Category A chemical record and ONE Dry Ice chemical record.
End of Day
When you process End of Day, WorldShip® will display the “End of Day Processing” selection dialogue message to allow you to select the option for Infectious Substance Category A and non-Infectious Substance Category A shipments. During End of Day processing, WorldShip will print Infectious Substance Category A package/shipment information on the Small Package Daily Detail Report (DDR)
Shipment History
Once an Infectious Substance Category A shipment has been successfully processed, WorldShip will add the shipment to a separate collection view node in Shipment History that is specific to Infectious Substance Category A shipments only.
Import
You can import Infectious Substance Category A shipments.
You can key import, use attended batch processing (ODBC/XML) and Hands off Shipping for Infectious Substance Category A shipments.
WorldShip will validate the Infectious Substance Category A Chemical Record for:
Valid Regulation Sets:
• IATA
• 49CFR
The Identification Number field is NOT empty and its value matches one of the following:
• UN2814
• UN2900
Class Division Number value must be “6.2”
Sub-risk Class field must be empty
Unit of Measure value is either “g” (grams) OR “ml” (millilitres)
A new field “Infectious Substance Category A indicator” has been added and will allow you to import at the package level. You can export the Infectious Substance Category A indicator when exporting Category A shipments. WorldShip will add the imported Infectious Substance Category A shipments to the Imported Shipments node located under the Infectious Substance Category A node.
