Use the Profile Editor to modify or delete a particular profile.
To modify or delete a profile:
On the Tools tab, select Create/Edit Profile. The Profile Editor welcome window appears.
Review the instructions and click OK. The Profile Editor window replaces the Shipping window. The Profile Editor window looks like the Shipping window, but a closer look reveals a few differences.
Tip: If you do not want the Profile Editor welcome window to appear each time you select the Profile Editor, select the Do Not Show This Dialog Box Again check box.
In the Profile Editor tab click the down arrow to the right of the Select box and select the name of the profile you want to modify or delete. (The list is alphabetical.) The preferences associated with the profile appear.
Take the appropriate action:
To modify the profile, type the modifications and click Save. UPS WorldShip validates the profile information. If the validation is successful, the information is saved. If the validation is not successful, a message appears showing which entry must be changed.
To delete the profile, click Delete. When the confirmation message appears, click the Yes button.
Notes:
If you modify a profile that is assigned to a shipper or customer that has a shipment in progress, the modified profile information is not displayed in the Shipping window until after the shipment is processed.
If you delete a profile assigned to a shipper, the shipper is assigned the UPS profile.
If you delete a profile assigned to a customer, the Profile box in the Address Book Editor for that customer is changed to (No Profile).
If you want to base a new profile on an existing profile (including the UPS profile):
Click the down arrow in the Select box and select that profile name.
Modify the required fields.
Click Save As and type a new name in the Enter Profile Name box.
Click OK.
Your new profile is saved without changing the profile on which it was based.
A message appears if you try to modify and save an existing profile or if you try to save a new profile using an existing profile name.
The UPS profile is predefined and cannot be modified and saved using the predefined name. A message appears if you try to save this profile.
If you work in a workgroup environment, see Profile Editor Rules in a Workgroup Environment.
