Troubleshoot Error 5001

When communication fails with UPS, UPS WorldShip displays a 5001 error message on each single workstation, workgroup administrative workstation, and communicating workgroup remote workstation. If encountered when uploading Package Level Detail (PLD), this message requires the single workstation user or workgroup administrator to re-register WorldShip.

If you receive Error 5001 when uploading PLD on a single workstation, do the following:

  1. Click the OK button on the Error 5001 message window.

  2. Exit WorldShip.

  3. Start WorldShip. The Register with UPS window appears.

  4. Click the Finish button. The registration process continues, and then the Shipping window appears.

If you receive Error 5001 when uploading PLD on a workgroup administrative workstation, do the following:

  1. Click the OK button on the Error 5001 message window.

  2. Exit WorldShip.

  3. Start WorldShip. The Register with UPS window appears.

  4. Click the Finish button.

  5. If WorldShip does not detect any running workgroup remote workstations, the registration process continues, and the Shipping window appears.

  6. If WorldShip detects running workgroup remote workstations, a message appears stating that the registration process must pause until the workgroup remote workstations exit. After acknowledging the message, WorldShip disables remote access and forces all workgroup remote workstations to exit. After all workgroup remote workstations exit, the registration process continues, and the Shipping window appears.

If you receive Error 5001 when uploading PLD on a communicating workgroup remote workstation, do the following:

  1. Click the OK button on the Error 5001 message window. The workstation automatically sends a message to the workgroup administrative workstation to notify the workgroup administrator of the Error 5001 message and to request that the workgroup administrative workstation be restarted and registered.

  2. Exit WorldShip.

  3. Once the workgroup administrative workstation has registered, start WorldShip. The Shipping window appears.
