Schedule Ground Freight Pickup During Shipment Processing

UPS WorldShip allows you to automatically or manually schedule a Ground Freight pickup.

To automatically schedule a pickup during shipment processing:

1. If available, ensure that the Consolidate Shipments check box shipper preference for Ground Freight is cleared. See Freight Tab in the Shipper Editor Window.

2. Ensure that the Schedule Pickup during Freight Processing system preference is selected. See Set Shipping System Preferences.

3. Process the shipment as usual. See Process Air/Ground Freight Shipments. When you click the Process button, the Pickup Request window appears.

4. In the Pickup Request window:

5. Under Pieces Shipped As, describe the handling units.

6. Under Pickup Notifications for LTL, provide the Pickup Reference Number and Pickup Reference Type. Then, click the Pickup Notifications button to display the Pickup Notifications for LTL window and schedule pickup notifications for your Ground Freight shipment.

7. Under Requester, provide the appropriate information or else use the Ship From information provided.

8. Provide the pickup date, pickup ready time, and pickup location closing time.

9. Under Pickup Location, provide any additional instructions.
   
   Note: All other fields show the Ship From address and cannot be updated.

10. Click the OK button.

To manually schedule a pickup during shipment processing:

1. During shipment processing, select Freight Pickup on the Home tab and then Request Freight Pickup. The Schedule a Freight Pickup window appears.

2. Provide the following:

3. Pickup date and time.

4. Pickup location. The Ship From address appears, but you can update the information.

5. Requester's information.

6. Shipment commodity information.

3. Click the Next button.
