In this window, you can:
Select a printer on which to print your labels.
Select label stock dimensions and options. The type of printer you select determines the label stock dimensions available and the label stock dimension you select determines the print options available in the extended area (if the label includes such an area).
For definitions of the fields and buttons in this window, click the field and button names below:
Name : Displays the name of your default thermal or laser jet printer. Read-only.
Change Label Printer : Click this button to display the Printer Selection window and select the thermal or laser jet printer you have.
Label Stock Dimensions : Click the down arrow and select the desired label stock from the displayed list. Your choices are:
Laser 8 1/2 x 11 allows you to print one label on each laser sheet. You can use the extended area to customise your labels with a shipment label header, reference numbers or a generic barcode.
Laser 8 1/2 x 11 (2 Labels per Page) allows you to print two labels on each laser sheet. You can use the extended area to customise your labels with a shipment label header, reference numbers or a generic barcode.
Note: You will use less paper by selecting to print As You Complete Shipment as your preferred label printing option than if you select As You Process Each Package. For the most efficient label use, you can defer your shipments during the day and then print the deferred shipments at the end of the day. Also, you may not be able to print two labels per page if you select to print As You Process Each Package or if you print labels for deferred shipments with international documents.
Laser 8 1/2 x 11 (4 Labels per Page) allows you to print four labels on each laser sheet.
Note: You will use less paper by selecting to print As You Complete Shipment as your preferred label printing option than if you select As You Process Each Package. For the most efficient label use, you can defer your shipments during the day and then print the deferred shipments at the end of the day. Also, you may not be able to print four labels per page if you select to print As You Process Each Package or if you print labels for deferred shipments with international documents.
Thermal 4 x 6 or 4 x 6 1/4 allows you to print a standard label.
Thermal 4 x 8 or 4 x 8 1/4 (Perforated) allows you to print document labels.
Thermal 4 x 8 or 4 x 8 1/4 allows you to use the extended area at either the top or bottom of the label. If you select this stock, you can select to print a shipment label header, a generic or an SSCC-18 barcode, a graphical image from a selected image file or reference numbers in the extended area of the label or to use a stock preprinted with your logo in the extended area of the label.
Thermal 4 x 11 allows you to print UPS World Ease labels.
Laser A4 210 x 297 allows you to use the extended area to customise your label with a shipment label header, reference numbers or a generic barcode.
Extended Area Usage : Click the down arrow to display a list of available options for the extended area of the label and select one:
Available for Thermal 4x8 and 4x8 1/4 Label Stock Dimensions:
(None) to print nothing in the extended area of the label.
Shipment Label Header to print a customised 3 1/2-inch by 1 3/4-inch area in the top area of the label.
Generic Barcode to print a customised reference number or barcode in the lower 2-inch area of the label.
Preprinted Label Stock to use your own label stock with a preprinted company logo in the top 2-inch area of the label.
SSCC-18 Barcode to print in the lower 2-inch area of the label.
Graphical Image (Company Logo) to use your own graphical image in the top 2-inch area of the label. The graphical image must be contained in a .PCX file. The image must be black and white and it must be no larger than 4" wide and 2" high. If you select this option, select Shipper Editor on the Tools menu, select the Preferences tab for the appropriate shipper and click the Select Image button. Then select the .PCX file containing the graphic image you want to print. Note: Even though the graphic may appear to be black and white, you may receive an error message if the file is configured to have more than two colours. To make the graphic usable, simply use an image editor to change the properties of the graphic to monochrome.
Reference Numbers to print one to five reference numbers in the lower 2-inch area of the label.
Available for Laser 8 1/2 x 11, Laser 8 1/2 x 11 (2 Labels per Page) and Laser A4 210 x 297 Label Stock Dimensions:
(None) to print nothing in the extended area of the label.
Shipment Label Header to print a customised 3 1/2-inch by 1 3/4-inch area in the top area of the label.
Reference Numbers to print one to five reference numbers in the lower 2-inch area of the label.
Generic Barcode to print a customised reference number barcode in the lower 2-inch area of the label.
Apply : Click this button to close this window and save any changes you have made.
Cancel : Click this button to close this window without saving any changes you have made.
Generic Thermal Printer :
Select this checkbox if the thermal printer you selected is not an approved UPS thermal printer or if you want to use a thermal label printer style when printing on a laser printer.
