If you want to print reference information (such as a purchase order number) on package labels, the Address Book Editor allows you to customise the Reference Number box titles to reflect such information.
Note: Changing a Reference Number box title does not make the box required. You can still process the shipment and print the label without it.
To change the Reference Number box titles:
On the Tools tab, select Addresses and then Address Book. The Address Book Editor window appears.
Type pertinent information for a new customer or display information for an existing customer by doing one of the following:
Click the down arrow in the Company or Name box and select the existing customer.
Click the Search button next to the Company or Name box. In the Address Book Search window, locate and select the existing customer. See Search for and Select an Address.
When the information for the appropriate customer appears in the Address Book Editor window, continue with step 3.
Click the down arrow in the This Reference Number box and select the reference number you want to associate with customer information.
Click the down arrow in the Has This Reference Qualifier box and select the identifier you want to associate with the Reference Number box.
Tip: If a particular reference qualifier is not shown, you can add a custom reference qualifier that will also show in this list. See Add a Custom Reference Qualifier.
Click the Add New Address button if you are entering information for a new customer or click the Modify Address button if you are entering information for an existing customer.
Tip: To change multiple Reference Number box titles for the same customer, repeat steps 3 through 5 up to four more times, once for each additional piece of customer information you want to associate with a Reference Number box.
When you are finished, click the Close button.
