Temporary Communications Problems
When communications cannot be established, UPS WorldShip tries to reestablish communications the next time you run End of Day or you start WorldShip. Once communications are reestablished, WorldShip transmits all pending shipment data, and you can continue processing as usual.
Problems with UPS Communications
Each time you run the End of Day process, WorldShip creates a uniquely dated shipment group under UPS Collections in the Shipment History window. When you select a shipment group, the status bar at the bottom of the window shows whether the shipment data for that group was successfully transmitted to UPS (Data Sent or Data Not Sent). In addition, if the shipment data for a group was not successfully transmitted to UPS, the message "NOT SENT" appears in red next to the date and time.
If UPS Collections in the Shipment History window lists three uniquely dated shipment groups that were not successfully transmitted to UPS (that is the status bar shows "Data Not Sent" and the message "NOT SENT" appears in red next to the date and time), you cannot process any more shipments until you correct the problem. You should retransmit your shipment data to UPS.
If this problem occurs again, call UPS Technical Support. See UPS Technical Support Telephone Numbers.
Problems at Your Location
Equipment problems. If your equipment cannot make the telephone connection, call your local telephone company.
Direct Access or network problems. If your equipment cannot make the internet connection, contact your IT office person.
Canceled or otherwise interrupted End of Day processing. Problems may occur if you repeatedly cancel communications. You should allow communications (such as End of Day processing) to proceed without interruption until completed.
In any of the above problems occur at your location, you can only process three business days' worth of shipments without transmitting to UPS successfully before you must fix the problem. On the second day, WorldShip alerts you to send your shipment data. If you are unable to correct this problem by the third day, WorldShip does not allow you to process any more shipments until the information is successfully transmitted. Once you have sent your data, you can continue to process shipments.
