Print Reference Numbers on Labels

To print one or two reference numbers as part of the label information on any label stock:

  1. Specify the reference numbers on the Reference tab in the Shipping window. See Specify the Reference Numbers.

  2. On the Tools tab, select System Preferences and then Printing Setup. The Printing Setup tab in the System Preferences Editor window appears.

  3. Under Reference Numbers Printed on the Label, click the down arrow in each This Reference No. Prints on the Label box and select a reference number to print on the label.

  4. Click the OK button.

To print up to five reference numbers in the lower two-inch (or local equivalent) extended area of the Thermal 4" x 8" or 4" x 8¼", Laser 8½" x 11", or Laser 8½" x 11" (2 Labels per Page) (or local equivalent) label:

  1. Specify the reference numbers on the Reference tab in the Shipping window. See Specify the Reference Numbers.

  2. Set up the label printer to use the extended area. See Set Up for Thermal 4 x 8 or 4 x 8¼ Labels with Extended Area or Set Up for Laser 8½ x 11 Labels (1 or 2 per Page) with Extended Area.

Note for Thermal 4" x 8" or 4" x 8¼" (or local equivalent) Label Users: If you select one or two reference numbers to print as part of the label information and then select the same reference number(s) to print in the extended area, those reference numbers will not print in the extended area. If you want to print all reference numbers in the extended area, select (None Selected) in the This Reference No. Prints on the Label boxes.
