Note: This task requires previous experience working with databases. Ask your technical staff for help if necessary.

To create a map to export records to a Comma Separated Value (CSV)-formatted file:

  2. Under New Map:

  1. Add new fields to the CSV-formatted map:

  1. Make any necessary adjustments to the CSV export map.

    Tips:

  1. When you are finished, click the Define CSV File Name button to save the file. The standard Save As window appears.

  2. Specify a file name and click the Save button.

  3. Click the OK button. The Create or Edit an Import or Export Map window appears and displays the new map in the Existing Maps grid.

To edit an existing map:

  1. On the Import-Export tab, select Create/Edit Map. The Create or Edit an Import or Export Map window appears.

  2. Select the export map in the Existing Maps grid that you want to edit.

    Tip:
The image\import.gif icon identifies an import map; the image\export.gif icon identifies an export map.

  3. Click the Edit button. The Edit Export to CSV Map window appears.

The left side of the window displays the data fields. The right side is titled Your CSV File and displays the fields specified in the CSV-formatted file.

  4. Continue with steps 3 and 4 in the procedure above.

  5. To append any changes to the existing map, select Append to Existing File (this makes the Include Header Row check box inactive). Any changes you make are added to the existing map.

  6. To discard the existing map and store only your changes, select Overwrite Existing File. Select the Include Header Row check box if you want the first row of the map to contain column headings. Clear the check box if you want the first row to contain data.
