How it works: "We can integrate WorldShip with whatever order management system a company is using, allowing them to scan a barcode or enter an order number and have all the ship-to information automatically populate. This often includes the UPS service level such as UPS Worldwide Express®, UPS Next Day Air® or UPS Ground, the weight of the package, and other reference data," Hayes says.
And according to Hayes, that integration can greatly expedite processing, eliminate data-entry errors, and can work in reverse as well.
"Once an order is completed, all the data can be pushed back into the order-entry system to show the order was completed, the ship date, tracking number and cost of shipping. That impacts customer service, finance and accounting, as well."
