When you select UPS carbon neutral, a flat fee will be added to your bill for each package selected.
With UPS Broker of Choice, importers select their own customs broker for customs clearance of their UPS international shipments. This service is available for shipments using UPS Worldwide Express Plus, UPS Worldwide Express, UPS Worldwide Express Saver, UPS Worldwide Expedited and UPS Worldwide Express Freight Services. This contractual, fee-based service ensures that the established relationship with a customs broker remains in place while the importer works with UPS to save time and increase efficiencies in shipping and customs processing. Using UPS Broker of Choice enables importers to reduce fees and errors incurred while using multiple customs clearance processes. Importers have two options:
An account number is invalid if it is not the correct account number for the bill-to party, or if it is the account number for a consignee or third party who fails to pay the shipping charges:
A fee charge per shipment will be assessed for international shipments with a missing or invalid account number.
When the "Duty and Tax Forwarding Surcharge" billing option is selected, a surcharge will be billed to the shipper.
Please refer to the above Additional Charges table for more information.
Routine customs clearance is included at no additional cost for entries up to 5 tariff lines. A fee will apply for every additional line thereafter and subject to a maximum charge.
Additional Handling applies to the following:
UPS also reserves the right to assess the Additional Handling Charge for any package that, in UPS's sole discretion, requires special handling.
An additional charge may be billed to the shipper for unsuccessful delivery because of an incorrect address.
Please refer to the above Additional Charges table for more information.
Extended Area Surcharge
UPS provides a pickup delivery service in extended, as well as urban, areas. An additional charge applies for each shipment that is picked up or delivered in an extended area.
Additional delivery attempts may have additional charges.
When the "Delivery Duty Paid, V.A.T. Unpaid" billing option is selected, a surcharge will be billed to the shipper.
Please refer to the above Additional Charges table for more information.
UPS will send you an invoice for the services we have provided. In the event that an invoice is overdue, UPS will charge a late payment penalty. The relevant amount will appear on your next UPS bill. This penalty is in addition to any legal rights and remedies available to UPS.
Packages with an actual weight of more than 150 pounds (70 kg), or that exceed 108 inches (274 cm) in length or a total of 157 inches (400 cm) in length and girth combined, as measured to determine their billable weight, are not accepted for transportation. These packages are subject to an Over Maximum Limits surcharge, in addition to all other applicable charges, if found in the UPS small package system.
A shipper or consignee may request that UPS notify the consignee prior to submission of an import shipment to customs so that the importer may validate the classification, valuation, or other import information. An additional fee per shipment will be billed to the importer or to the shipper when the shipper is selected as the payer of the duties and taxes for the shipment.
UPS Paperless Invoice allows customers using a UPS online shipping system (for example, Worldship®, UPS Campus Ship, and UPS Internet Shipping) to electronically submit commercial invoice data for clearance. Depending on country-specific customs regulations, this may eliminate the need to affix hard copies of the invoice to the shipment and reduces the possibility of errors or shipment delays due to missing documentation.
This service is offered on a contractual basis and there is no charge incurred.
Packages rejected by the consignee, or that cannot be delivered due to causes beyond the control of UPS, will be held by UPS. The shipper will then be contacted for further instructions. The UPS service guarantee does not apply to Undeliverable Packages that are returned to the sender. An undeliverable returns surcharge will be applied in addition to other applicable charges. See table above for Special Handling of Undeliverable Packages rate.
A surcharge will be imposed for urgent shipments sent via UPS Worldwide Express Plus. Please refer to the above Additional Charges table for more information.
UPS provides delivery service to residential addresses as well as business addresses. A residential delivery is one made to a home, including a business operating out of a home. For each residential delivery, an additional charge per shipment applies.
With UPS FTZ Facilitator, importers and exporters have the ability to use UPS to transport international shipments "in-bond" to and from a global Free/Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ). This service is available for shipments using UPS Worldwide Express Plus, UPS Worldwide Express, UPS Worldwide Express Freight Services, UPS Worldwide Express Saver, and UPS Worldwide Expedited.
This contractual, fee-based service allows the shipment of goods to move to or from an FTZ without using other transportation providers. Using UPS as a single source enables importers and exporters to increase visibility and tracking and minimise the chance for errors and costs associated with utilising multiple transportation providers.
Importers will choose UPS FTZ Facilitator to direct shipments to be delivered, in-bond, to a designated FTZ rather than being cleared through customs. Exporters will choose UPS FTZ Facilitator to ship goods in-bond from an FTZ to an international destination.
An additional handling fee that would be charged on pallets that exceed the specific dimensions.
An export declaration surcharge applies to each shipment under any one of the following circumstances regardless of the invoice value of the shipment:
A warehouse storage charge will apply if a shipment is not cleared through customs within 2 calendar days. The charges will be calculated from the 3rd day and will apply unless the delay is due to the fault of UPS.
Consignees who do not require the full suite of UPS Broker of Choice® services may still, on an ad hoc basis, select their own customs broker for customs clearance of their UPS international shipments. UPS will transfer any customs clearance information and documents it has received from the shipper to the consignee or its appointed third-party broker. A charge per shipment applies.
An import declaration surcharge applies to each shipment under any one of the following circumstances:
A shipper or consignee may request for special customs entry for a shipment to be temporarily imported into a country duty-free and exported within a statutory timeframe. A charge per shipment applies.
Shipments that are tendered to UPS in contravention of or not in compliance with applicable laws and regulations or UPS’s terms and conditions of service or contractual service (including, but not limited to, prohibited shipments or shipments that UPS does not accept or regularly provide service for without an exception) are subject to a fee.
This fee is without prejudice and in addition to the shipper’s responsibility for all other sums that UPS may incur and claims against UPS resulting from the contravention or non-compliance.
A Large Parcel Surcharge will be applied to each UPS parcel when its length plus girth [(2 x width) + (2 x height)] combined exceeds 300 cm, but does not exceed the maximum UPS size of 400 cm.
Large Packages are subject to a minimum billable weight of 40 kg in addition to the Large Package Surcharge.
An Additional Handling charge will not be assessed when a Large Package Surcharge is applied.
