All Shipments in Thailand Containing Cannabis Subject to THB 30,000 per Kilogram Penalty and UPS Unlawful Drug Fee

All shipments containing cannabis or cannabis flowers will be confiscated and forfeited by the State, and a penalty of THB 30,000 per kilogram will apply. For the purpose of assessing this penalty, any fractional weight will be rounded up to the next full kilogram.

In addition to the customs penalty above, an Unlawful Drug Fee of THB 34,558 per package may be imposed on the shipper. This fee (i) is in addition to any other charges or obligations owed to UPS in connection with the shipment or disposal of unlawful drugs, all of which shall be borne by the shipper solely at its risk and expense; and (ii) will be applied once the unlawful drugs have been seized or disposed of, as applicable.

New Export Permit Linking Requirement for Dual-Use Items, Effective July 30, 2026

Exporters of goods classified as Dual-Use Items (DUI) must electronically link the relevant license or certificate information through Thailand’s National Single Window (NSW) system before submitting export customs declarations.
