UPS InfoNotice™

What is an InfoNotice?

We left you a UPS InfoNoticeSM because no one was available when we tried to deliver or collect your shipment. The UPS InfoNotice is a powerful tool that links all shipments for your delivery stop to one unique reference number. This number appears on the bottom of the InfoNotice above the barcode. You can use this number to track your shipment, change delivery options or collect your shipment. Simply enter the InfoNotice number either in the Tracking section of your country's homepage or directly in the Track Packages & Freight section of UPS.com.

At the top of the InfoNotice, you'll see the date it was left and whether it was the first, second, or final attempt.  If UPS is unsuccessful with all three delivery attempts, we will hold the shipment at a nearby UPS facility for five days before returning it to the sender. C.O.D. shipments will be returned to sender the same day as the final delivery attempt is made.

If the shipment is C.O.D. or Signature Required, refer to boxes checked by your UPS driver on the InfoNotice.

If we attempted to collect a shipment and you were not available, your InfoNotice indicates the next collection date and time.

Plan Ahead and Receive Your Shipment as Soon as Possible

If you have received an InfoNotice after one delivery attempt has been made, you can change your delivery options on UPS.com. Your options are:

  • Will Call: UPS will hold your package at a nearby location for you to collect.
  • Delivery to Another Address: Provide a different delivery address for the package.
  • Reschedule Delivery: Specify a future date you want UPS to deliver the package.
  • Return to Sender: UPS will return the package to the sender.
