Remarkable services that go beyond shipping and tracking to help you expand your business.
Online shipping has been redesigned for user efficiency, which means the classic version of ups.com shipping will be going away soon. You may want to begin using the new shipping experience right away rather than waiting, and for good reason.
The new ups.com shipping display expands and collapses in sections so that you can see all your shipping information on a single continuous form. But some customers who ship less frequently prefer a form that helps them complete each step in the proper sequence. The Guided Steps provide a step-by-step display for those who prefer extra guidance. Simply click the button near the top of your screen to turn this feature on or off.
Yes! As always, using a distribution list is a great time saver when you need to send more than one (up to 100) similar shipments to a group of people. For example, you’ve got a sample of a new product and you want to send one to each of your 20 distributors. Any distribution list you’ve saved in your address book can be selected from your drop-down list of saved addresses, just like you did in the old shipping system.
Your new shipping experience now gives you the option to ship to a distribution list even when you don’t already have a distribution list saved in your address book. Just click Search Contacts to select multiple receivers and then proceed like you would with a saved distribution list. It’s a great time saver when shipping to a group of people you’ve not shipped to before.
By clicking the Review in Cart button, you’ll see a quick overview of each shipment before you print your labels. With our old shipping system, every shipment in your distribution list had to be identical except for the receiver’s address. But with the new Shipping Cart you can make changes to any specific shipment you need. For example, maybe you need to select a faster service for one of the receivers, or perhaps add an extra package for another. Your new Shipping Cart to makes using a distribution list easier and more flexible than ever.
Absolutely! Select Batch File Shipping from the ups.com shipping menu just like you always have. The procedure to create up to 250 shipments at once by importing a CSV (comma separated value) or SSV (semicolon separated value) file format has not changed. For all the details on formatting and importing your file please click the link provided.
Create Batch-FileOpen the link in a new windowBy clicking Preview Batch, you’ll see a quick overview of each shipment that you’ve imported before you print your labels. With the new Shipping Cart, you’ll have the opportunity to make changes to any specific shipment before you print the label. So if you need, you can add options like Weekend Delivery, or Hold at a UPS Access PointTM location, to a shipment without having to delete then re-import the whole batch. The Shipping Cart also allows you to take care of any errors we found in your batch file – so you no longer need to fix the error in your batch file then re-import it.
The freight tab has been replaced with a more compact button near the upper right corner of the ups.com shipping screen. Click the button to ship freight using ups.com the same way you have in the past.
At this time, ups.com shipping will not automatically enter the weight from your digital scale into the package weight field of the shipping screen. To get the weight of your package, place it on your digital scale and type the weight reading into the ups.com screen.
Nearly every international shipment containing anything other than documents will need a commercial invoice (sometimes called a pro forma invoice). A smaller percentage may need or benefit from additional documentation based on contents of the shipment or import/export regions.
UPS has electronic versions of some of the most common forms to complete online, with explanations and definitions to help you find what you need. We've also debuted a new "easy forms" tool that will automatically generate completed forms based on questions we ask about your shipment.
The new design of ups.com shipping gives you a running estimate of your shipment as you create it, starting with just a few basic details like sender and receiver postal codes and package weight. The calculation is continually refined as you go.
You can always see a detailed breakdown of fees as they are calculated. Open the price details panel from the live price estimate to see everything impacting your shipping cost, including some things you can do that may help improve your final cost.
New ups.com shipping filters the services you see based on the details of your shipment. Some options may not be possible for a particular shipment due to the shipping route (origin to destination), package size and weight, or other factors. At times there may be a conflict with another option you've selected.
For services under contract to your business, there is often a specific billing account attached. First make sure you are logged in, then if you have multiple accounts, try switching accounts in the drop list at the top of the shipping form. Some discounts or promotions may also be specific to a certain account.
Not all options are necessarily visible on load. Try expanding sections or viewing additional options to see if your function was hidden.
