  • New TMEC Certificate of Origin

    The Canada-US-Mexico (TMEC) agreement, also known as “CUSMA” in Canada and “USMCA” in the US, will enter into force July 1st, 2020.  Effective July 1st 2020, a certificate of origin, issued by the exporter, importer or producer, will be required. This certificate must contain a set of minimum data as explained in the TMEC Chapter 5 – Annex 5-A, or you can use the UPS suggested certificate of origin.

  • UPS Launches Program to Help Small Businesses in Mexico Recover from Coronavirus

    Small Businesses will gain access to special rates for domestic and international shipments, technology platforms to facilitate shipping, and webinars with experts. The set of special rates include up to 50% discount on shipping packages within Mexico and a 55% discount for export shipments.

    Effective March 26, 2020 and until further notice, we have suspended the UPS Service Guarantee (referred to as the UPS Money Back Guarantee) for all shipments from any origin to any destination.

  • Temporary Peak Surcharge

    To better manage the increased demand for air cargo capacity and the increased costs to maintain service amid the Coronavirus outbreak, a temporary peak surcharge will be implemented on shipments originating from China Mainland and Hong Kong SAR to Mexico from April 5, 2020 until further notice.

  • Government of Chile increases the maximum value of shipments for clearance through courier companies

    On March 12, 2019, general rule CVE 1558482 established that import and export shipments of up to a maximum value of US$3,000 FOB can be cleared without the need of a broker agent. Small and medium-sized companies doing business with international markets can now ship more merchandise (or merchandise of a greater value) without incurring additional expenses.
