UPS Peak/Demand Surcharges
UPS will continue service amid the ongoing coronavirus outbreak to support the demand and needs of our customers. Our goal is to ensure businesses and customers are able to meet their shipping needs as the demand for air cargo capacity increases.
Since 12 April 2020, a Peak/Demand Surcharge has been applicable to international shipments.
This is an evolving situation and since then the temporary surcharge has been subject to changes due to market conditions and may be extended or otherwise changed. Shippers shall continue to check ups.com/peaksurcharge for updates prior to tendering shipments.
Effective 19 June 2022 until further notice, the amount of the Peak/Demand Surcharge applied to shipments from India to Asia Pacific4, Europe, ISMEA5 (Indian Subcontinent, Middle East, Africa), Australia, and New Zealand will increase.
Peak/Demand Surcharges will apply to all packages above 0.5kg, including letters and documents shipped for the origins, destinations, and service levels in the amounts set forth below. Peak/Demand Surcharges apply in addition to all other applicable Charges.
A. Peak/Demand Surcharge – Applied to shipments from China Mainland, Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR to India
The Peak/Demand Surcharge for any shipment originating from China Mainland, Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR to India increased effective 1 May 2022 until further notice for the Service Levels set forth below.
The Peak/Demand Surcharge will be applied as a rate per kilogram based upon the billable weight of the shipment.
