UPS InfoNotice

Did You Receive an InfoNotice?

We left you a UPS InfoNoticeSM because no one was available when we tried to deliver or collect your shipment. The UPS InfoNotice is a powerful tool that links all shipments for your delivery stop to one unique reference number.

This number appears on the bottom of the InfoNotice above the barcode. You can use this number to track your shipment, change delivery options, or collect your shipment. Simply enter the InfoNotice number either in the Tracking section of your country's homepage or directly in the Track Packages & Freight section of

At the top of the InfoNotice, you'll see the date it was left and whether it was the first, second, or final attempt.  If UPS is unsuccessful with all three delivery attempts, we will hold the shipment at a nearby UPS facility for five days before returning it to the sender. C.O.D. shipments will be returned to sender the same day as the final delivery attempt is made.

If the shipment is C.O.D. or Signature Required, refer to boxes checked by your UPS driver on the InfoNotice. For non-signature required shipments, you can sign the InfoNotice, put it back in its original location, and the driver will leave your shipment on the next delivery attempt.

If we attempted to collect a shipment and you were not available, your InfoNotice indicates the next collection date and time.

In certain Locations, Your Parcels May Be Directed to a UPS Access Point

Where available, after the first unsuccessful residential delivery attempt, UPS will deliver your parcel to a designated UPS Access Point located in your vicinity. If this happens, you will notice a sticker on the UPS InfoNotice indicating the address and collection times of the UPS Access Point where the parcel can be retrieved up to 10 calendar days later.

UPS Access Point locations are independently-owned retail shops approved by UPS to receive and temporarily hold unsuccessful deliveries. These locations are situated close to the original delivery address and have convenient operating hours, making it easier for you to retrieve your parcel the same day instead of waiting until the next business day for another delivery attempt.
