Commodity Specific Stipulations
There are special stipulations on the following commodities when shipping to Peru. If you plan to ship one of the commodities listed below, be sure to adhere to the following stipulations in order to avoid delays and holds at customs.
- "Import of Alcoholic beverages into Peru is permitted via ISC contract service
Business to consumer (B2C) and Business to Business (B2B) shipments are allowed into Peru. Beer, wine and spirits (liquor).
For B2B shipments into Peru, DIGESA certificate is needed. For B2C shipments, the product must have a prior Sanitary Registration; then the consignee can ask for DIGESA Certificate. Each import shipment cannot be more than 3 liters and/or USD 2,000.

- Peru Export: Per airline restrictions, batteries or any product containing batteries are not acceptable for Exports out of Peru.
Peru Imports: Destination cities in Peru, for these shipments must be accessible by land/road. Deliveries to cities that are accessible only by air or river (i.e.: Iquitos) are deemed as Out of Service Area. In this case, shipper/consignee must provide an alternate address in a city that is accessible by road, in order to complete delivery.
- A CD rom is considered documents only if the data containing the CD is intercompany information.
- Medicine shipments valued up to US$2,000.00 can be cleared by Customs with an original invoice.
Medicine samples that are for testing or certification will be held by Customs for registration or testing.
A Sanitary Registration issued by DIGESA (Sanitary Office of the Ministry of Health) is required.
- Magazines are considered as non-documents by Peruvian Customs.
- Medicines require a original commercial invoice, and also need authorization from the Health Ministry (Senasa).
Medicine samples that are for testing or certification will be held by Customs for registration or testing.
A Sanitary Registration issued by DIGESA (Sanitary Office of the Ministry of Health) is required.
- Customers must use an authorized UPS / MBE (Mail Boxes Etc) Store, UPS Customer Center or ISC Approved Shipper to ship personal effects.
The UPS Store, Mail Boxes Etc, UPS Customer Center or ISC approved shipper will be required to identify personal effect shipments on the shipping label by placing "Personal Effects" in the Reference Field of a UPS "smart" label or in the Special Instructions Field of a UPS waybill. They must also clearly indicate 'Personal Effects' shipment on the Commercial Invoice.
Personal Effects are classified as used items (owned for a minimum of 6 months) intended for the consignee's personal use. Any items intended for any other use, such as wholesale or retail sales, business purposes, or for distribution are not considered personal effects and cannot be shipped on this basis. "Personal Effects" must be clearly stated on the invoice and goods description.
All of the following documents must be scanned into DIS/SIR and originals on the package:
An inventory list with estimated values with the reason for importation (holidays, move, relocation) A confirmation that the goods are older than 6 months and that they are intended for personal use only A photocopy of passport or ID card Any items intended for any other use, such as wholesale or retail sales, business purposes, or for distribution are not considered personal effects and cannot be shipped on this basis.
Excisable goods (for example, perfume, alcoholic drinks, tobacco), medicine and perishable food can not be cleared as personal effects.
Personal effects shipments are not allowed in combination with Return Services.

Prohibited or Restricted Commodities
In addition to the commodities which UPS prohibits to all countries or territories served (listed here), it is prohibited to ship the following commodities to Peru.
- Including their component elements
- Ammunitions, accessories, and reserves of civil use
- As long as they make reference to the limits of Peru, as notebooks, books, maps, pamphlets, diskettes, CD, videos, planes or any other material.
- Chemical products that can be derived to the production of paste basic of cocaine, paste washed, cocaine hydrochloride and other. For example: Acetone, sulphuric acid, anhydrous ammonia
- Some dangerous residuals, as waste of foundry scrap ingots and others that contain mainly organic waste.
- For domestic use
- Electronic Cigarettes can only be shipped with an International Special Commodities (ISC) contract.
Imports require a Health Ministry Import Permit.
- Goods related to products of civil use which includes: some chemical products, Security wicks, inflammatory goods, detonators.
- Ornamental fishes, Algas, Oysters, Shrimps
- Substances that drain the layer of ozone and teams that use them, as for example Refrigerators, Freezers, Water coolers (as long as they use a coolant gas)
- For domestic use
- Plants and vegetable products require a permission import fit sanitary, (fruits, seeds, meal, grains).
- Products and sub-products of animal origin requires of an import zoo sanitary authorization (meats, hams, milk and other milky products, leathers and skins, wool ).
- Products made in Iran are prohibited in our service due to a current embargo.
- Sanitary Registration is required for: Medications patented and generics, Dietary products and sweeteners, Homeopathic medicine, Reagents of diagnostic, Products of biological origin as blood and their fractions, Cosmetics and products of personal hygiene, Sanitary products and products of hygiene (soaps, deodorants, feeding bottles), Medical Instruments, equipments and instrumental, surgical and dentistry products.
