There are special stipulations on the following commodities when shipping to Oman. If you plan to ship one of the commodities listed below, be sure to adhere to the following stipulations in order to avoid delays and holds at customs.
- Shipments of audio discs or videodiscs may be subject to censorship by the Ministry of Information. If so, the consignee will be responsible for arranging Customs clearance and obtaining an import license.
- Shipments of new or used diskettes may be subject to censorship by the Ministry of Information. If so, the consignee will be responsible for Customs clearance and obtaining an import license
- For all medicine shipments, the importer must have an original duty exemption document issued by the Oman Ministry of Health (MOH). Delays will occur if this document is not provided.
- Shipments of DVDs may be subject to censorship by the Ministry of Information. If so, the consignee will be responsible for arranging Customs clearance and obtaining an import license. To expedite clearance on DVD's, the consignees name should be written on the DVD.
- Shipments of film may be subject to censorship by the Ministry of Information. If so, the consignee will be responsible for Customs clearance and obtaining an import license.
- Data shipments require an invoice with the value of the CD-ROM or disk only.
- Shipments of magazines require an import license.
- For all medicine shipments, the importer must have an original duty exemption document issued by the Oman Ministry of Health (MOH). Delays will occur if this document is not provided.
- Shipments of microfilm or microfiche may be subject to censorship by the Ministry of Information. If so, the consignee will be responsible for Customs clearance and obtaining an import license.
- Shipments of mylars may be subject to censorship by the Ministry of Information. If so, the consignee will be responsible for Customs clearance and obtaining an import license.
- Shipments of negatives may be subject to censorship by the Ministry of Information. If so, the consignee will be responsible for Customs clearance and obtaining an import license.
- IT Parts with the following harmonized tariff codes (HTC) are allowed for duty-free importation provided that the the HTC's are listed on the shipper's invoice and appear on the UPS import manifest that will be presented to customs:
- 8473.2100
- 8473.2900
- 8473.3000
- 8472.9080
- 8536.9010
- Shipments of periodicals may be subject to censorship by the Ministry of Information. If so, the consignee will be responsible for Customs clearance and obtaining an import license.
- For all pharmaceutical shipments, the importer must have an original duty exemption document issued by the Oman Ministry of Health (MOH). Delays will occur if this document is not provided.
- Shipments of publications may be subject to censorship by the Ministry of Information. If so, the consignee will be responsible for Customs clearance and obtaining an import license.
- Shipments of slides may be subject to censorship by the Ministry of Information. If so, the consignee will be responsible for Customs clearance and obtaining an import license.
- Shipments of tapes(audio, video, or magnetic), may be subject to censorship by the Ministry of Information. If so, the consignee will be responsible for arranging Customs clearance and obtaining an import license. To expedite clearance on videos, the consignees name should be written on the videocassette.
- Shipments of transparencies may be subject to censorship by the Ministry of Information. If so, the consignee will be responsible for Customs clearance and obtaining an import license.
- Data shipments require an invoice with the character of the USB stick (storing intercompany data) and the value of the USB Stick.
