There are special stipulations on the following commodities when shipping to Kazakhstan. If you plan to ship one of the commodities listed below, be sure to adhere to the following stipulations in order to avoid delays and holds at customs.
- Shipments of chemical products, depending on the Harmonized Tariff Code, may require an import license or a simple confirmation from the consignee. In addition, the product itself must be labeled with a description of substances as well, and the commercial invoice must contain a detailed product description. Otherwise, shipments will be rejected by customs and returned back to the shipper.
Products which are used for cleaning or producing machinery meant for producing food stuff, garments, household articles and other products which are supposed to get in contact with human skin are subject to sanitary-epidemiologic controls at the border. A government registration certificates and an attested invoice in Russian language must accompany the shipment. and other products which are supposed to get in contact with human skin are subject to sanitary-epidemiologic controls at the border. - Shipments of chemicals require an import license.
- Underwear (Including T-Shirts)
Underwear and T-Shirts for kids require a safety certificate. In addition, they are subject to sanitary-epidemiologic controls at the border. A government registration certificate and an attested invoice in Russian language must accompany the shipment.

- Shipments of cryptographic computer hardware require an import license.
- Shipments of cosmetics require a Safety Certificate from the consignee.
- Shipments of medicine require registration and permission from the Ministry of Health. These shipments will also require an Import License from the consignee.
- Shipments of consumer electronics and electrical equipment require a Safety Certificate from the consignee.
- Shipments of foodstuff require a Safety Certificate from the consignee.
- Data shipments to Kazakhstan require an invoice with the value of the data and the value of the CD-ROM or disk.
- Shipments of machinery and spare parts for machinery require a safety certificate and an invoice with a detailed description of every spare part. Machinery imported for internal use, not for resale and in unit quantity, can be imported without the safety certificate. Spare parts of already certified machinery are exempted from the requirements.

- Shipments of medical products and equipment require an Import License.
- Shipments of medicine require registration and permission from the Ministry of Health. These shipments also require an import license from the consignee.
- Shipments of telescopic and laser sights for military use require an import license. Navigation equipment for military use also requires an import license.
- Shipments of paint and lacquer require a Safety Certificate from the consignee.
- Shipments of parachutes and spares for military use require an import license.
- Personal shipments can be imported duty and tax free under the following conditions:
- No more than one personal shipment each month
- Maximum of 2 items of any commodity each month
- Total value of the shipment including freight charges must be less than 1,000.00 Euros
- Maximum shipment weight must be less than 31 kg
Note: Personal shipments not meeting the conditions above may be imported but duty and VAT will apply.
- Shipments of pharmaceuticals require an import license.
- Shipments of radio locators and radio cable, as well as radio-navigation, radio-transmitting, and radio-communication equipment and spare parts require an import license.
- Shipments of smoked salmon require a Certificate from the Russian Testing Organization (ROSTEST).
- Shipments of textiles must be accompanied by a Certificate of Quality and Safety issued by the shipper. When the value of the shipment is US$10,000.00 or greater, the importer must also provide Customs a "Passport of the Bargain" issued by a bank.
- Shipments of toys require a safety certificate issued by ROSTEST.
Toys are also subject to sanitary-epidemiologic controls at the border. A government registration certificate issued by ROSPOTREBNADZOR and an attested invoice in Russian language needs to accompany the products at the point of time of arrival.

- Shipments of military uniforms and attributes require an import license.
- Data shipments require an invoice with the character of the USB stick (storing intercompany data) and the value of the USB Stick.
