Prohibited or Restricted Commodities

In addition to the prohibited commodities listed here, it is prohibited to ship the following commodities to Mauritania.

The import of alcoholic beverages is prohibited.
Payroll and personal checks are classified as non-documents and require an invoice. Blank checks are prohibited.
Shipments of chemicals, if not combustible, can be shipped if securely wrapped, not in paper and properly labelled. Flammable, corrosive, and oxidizer chemicals are considered hazmat and not acceptable.

Lithium Metal Batteries (UN 3090) are prohibited due to an embargo by Air France.

Any shipments sent will be returned to the shipper.

  • Passports are only accepted from company to company. They are subject to French Border Police regulations. Passports cannot be shipped from private individual to private individual.
    Personal Effects cannot be shipped between these countries
    Used traveler's checks are classified as non-documents and require an invoice. Unused traveler's checks are prohibited.
