CampusShip Support - Company Locations- Import File Format

How To Import Locations

Rather than manually entering locations, a Company Administrator can import a file to add to an existing file.

Note: To use this import function, you must have Company Administrator rights.

  1. Select Administration in the area at the top, go to Manage Locations, and then select Import Locations. The page that displays allows you to import a file of location information to add to an existing file.
  2. To import a file, enter a file path and name, or browse to the file location. After locating the file, select Open to populate the field in the File to Import textbox.
Note: The import file must have a .csv extension.
  3. To begin the process, select Import. To quit, select Cancel.

Using a comma as the field delimiter: When importing information, use a comma to separate the information for each field. If a field is empty, a comma is required to "skip" to the next field. Thus, the format could contain multiple commas in a row without spaces, as shown in the "required fields only" sample below.

  • Sample record with required fields only:
    TestLocation,JoeContact,123 Main Street,,,Atlanta,GA,770-555-1234,,U.S.,30350,,ABC123,
  • Sample record with all fields:
    TestLocation,JoeContact,123 Main Street,4th Floor,Accounting Department,Atlanta,GA,770-555-1234,1234,U.S.,30350, joe@company.com,ABC123,770-555-4321
