Extended Area Surcharge

Providing service to and from less populated or accessible domestic and international areas carries higher operating costs. The extended and remote area surcharges are assessed to more accurately reflect the cost of providing service to these areas.

International Processing Fee

Effective 8 September 2025, an International Processing Fee (IPF) of 2.50 USD per shipment (2.35 EUR or the local currency equivalent) will apply to all import shipments into the United States from all regions.

Our Service and UPS Rate Guides apply to new customers and many existing customers.

Effective 21 December 2025, some services and fees will be updated. View changes to UPS Service and Rate Guides.

Effective 19 April 2026, the existing Surge Fee will be renamed to Surge Emergency Fee. The Surge Emergency Fee reflects evolving global conditions and will continue to apply to shipments on specified services and lanes as outlined on each country’s UPS.com rates page. The new name will be reflected in the updated Service and Rate Guides, which are planned for publication in November 2026.
