How do I classify an address in WorldShip?
To classify addresses in a batch:

  1. On the Home tab in the Shipping window, select the Addresses button. If selecting the down arrow, select Address Book. The Address Book Editor window appears.
  2. Select the Send Addresses for Classification button. The Address Collection window appears.
  3.  View the progress of the collection of addresses. After the collection is complete, the following message appears:  "Your addresses will be sent for classification."
  4. Select the OK button. The Address Book Editor window appears.
  5. Select the Close button. The Shipping window appears.
  6. Resume your usual UPS WorldShip activities. When the classification is complete (which may take more than four hours), the Batch Address Classification Response Notification window appears.
  7. Take the appropriate action as follows:
Select the Download Now button to download the classified addresses immediately. When the download is complete, the following message appears:  "The address classification responses were successfully downloaded."

Select the Defer button to postpone the download of the classified addresses until your next communication session with the UPS Data Center. You can defer the download three times; thereafter the Defer button becomes inactive, and you must click either the Download Now or the Delete button.

Select the Delete button to delete the address classification responses. Deleting the address classification responses may cause service delays to occur on future shipments if an invalid address is used. To classify your addresses and avoid potential service delays, you must repeat the address classification procedure.

  8. Select the OK button.
  9. On the Home tab in the Shipping window, select the Addresses button. If selecting the down arrow, select Address Book. The Address Book Editor window appears.
  10. Select the Resolve Returned Addresses button. The Postal Code Update Notification window appears. This window allows you to select or decline automatic reconciliation of addresses that require a postal code update.
  11. Select the Exit button to close the UPS Address Reconciler window. The following message will display: "The addresses that were resolved will now update your address book. Please select OK to start this process."
  12. Select the OK button.
