I was unable to register for UPS My Choice and received a 1013 error. What does this mean and is there anything I can do?

When you register for a UPS My Choice® Membership we use legal, public record information to verify your identity and create security questions specific to you.

You received a 1013 error because:

  • We were unable to match the information you provided with the information available in the public records.
  • There was insufficient information in the public records.

Because there was insufficient information, valid security questions could not be generated and you could not complete the UPS My Choice registration process.

The information in the public records may not match because of a recent move, a name change, or if you tried to add a household member with a different last name.

It's important to remember that it may take a few months for the updated information, new address or name change, to appear in the public record.

If you haven't moved or recently changed your name, we recommend verifying your public record information is correct and entering your name and address as it appears in public records. (e.g., utility bills, mortgage, etc.)
