How many UPS Freight Pickup Reference Types are there?
A Pickup Reference Type is a text description that is used to describe a Pickup Reference Number for a UPS Freight® shipment. There are many different reference types that may be selected from a variety of sources, including (but not limited to):

  • PRO numbers
  • Purchase order numbers
  • Bill of lading numbers
  • Load numbers
  • SID
  • Return Authorization numbers

So, for example, if you enter a load number from your freight shipment as your Pickup Reference Number, then the Pickup Reference Number Type would be Load Number.
