Service Update

UPS respects the legal framework of the countries where it operates. UPS communicates changes in a timely manner for compliance and to ensure on time delivery of all shipments.

Today, all import and export documents required by customs, such as invoice, letter of instructions, coves, Official Mexican Standard letters (NOM, for its abbreviation in Spanish), translations, declared value, NAFTA, etc. are required to include the air waybill (tracking) number for single piece shipments; and to add all tracking numbers for multiple piece shipments.

As a result of the new guidelines that the Foreign Trade authorities have implemented, it will be required that effective May 1, 2013 all customs clearance documents include the UPS shipment number (Shipment ID).

The UPS shipment number (Shipment ID) can be easily found depending on your shipping system.

  1. Automated Shipping Label.  Located in the upper right-hand-side corner of your label, area shown as SHIP#

  2. Manual Shipping Label. Located in the upper right-hand-side of your master waybill, in the area shown as UPS Waybill (in multiple-piece shipments, the tracking number from the UPS Air Waybill is used)

The tracking number (tracking) can still be used to track your shipments as usual.

For comments or concerns, please call our Customer Service Centre at 5228-7900 in Mexico City, or from outside Mexico City, you can call the toll free number 01-800-90-292-00.

At UPS we value your business and appreciate your trust in allowing UPS as your international trade partner.
