UPS Strengthens its Operations by Opening Five New UPS Express Counters
Press Release

With a total of more than 800 square meters, UPS has increased its infrastructure with four new UPS Express Counters in Guadalajara and one in Mexico City

Mexico City, September 11th, 2012 - UPS (NYSE: UPS) has announced the opening of five new UPS Express Counters, four of them located in strategic zones throughout Guadalajara and one in the southern zone of Mexico City. The new express counters are designed to offer customers a personal, fast and self service process with any UPS international and domestic shipment. These express counters are part of the UPS infrastructure expansion plan for Mexico.

According to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), in the first quarter of 2012, Jalisco was ranked 5th in terms of its percentage contribution to national growth, given its geographical position and its economic development. Furthermore, in a market study commissioned by UPS, it was found that 60% of packages in Guadalajara sent by small and medium-sized companies are shipped through customer centers. This is one of the reasons why UPS decided to invest in strengthening its operations in the state.
UPS Mexico has a total of 324 access points located throughout Mexico, which connect companies and customer's shipments with Mexico and the rest of the world. These five new UPS Express Counters will be fully operational by September 10th.

The new UPS Express Counters will offer a variety of services that have been created to meet the customers' needs during their shipment process. Each counter will have multiple service desks to make operations faster and reduce waiting times. A designated technology training area has been created so that customers can learn how to use the UPS online tools, print shipping labels and easily track and view the real-time status of their packages. Another new service customers can take advantage of is uninterrupted service during the weekdays (from 9:00AM until 7:00PM) and on Saturdays from 9:00AM until 2:30PM). This will offer greater flexibility to those who need to pick up or send packages during specific times of the day.

"For UPS, it is exceedingly important to work closely with our customers, as they are our priority. With these new UPS Express Counters, we offer easier access to a wide range of services, providing coverage to every zip code in Mexico and more than 220 countries and territories around the world," stated Jorge Castillo, managing director of UPS Mexico.

The new service centers in Guadalajara are located at:
