UPS Expands Air Infrastructure for Western Mexico
Press Release

Integration of Airbus 300 Increases Cargo Capacity by 30%

MEXICO CITY, March 14th, 2012 - UPS (NYSE: UPS) today announced it has expanded its air infrastructure for western Mexico by adding an Airbus 300 to its fleet.

The expansion will enable UPS to increase air cargo capacity by 30 percent to cover market demand.  The new airplane will fly five times a week from Worldport®, UPS's worldwide hub in Louisville, Ky., to Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.  This will ensure timely deliveries and provide more capacity for exports and imports, becoming a key driver for the consolidation and growth of express and international freight services that UPS provides in western Mexico.

"We are reinforcing our commitment to our customers by investing in the infrastructure needed to ensure Mexican businesses can reach global markets.  We want our customers to be satisfied, and we have the responsibility of providing the reliable service customers need while protecting the environment," said Jorge Castillo, country manager of UPS Mexico.

The Airbus 300, which has specific features that help reduce pollutant emissions and an engine with low fuel consumption, will continue offering highly reliable service in terms of connections. Export package transportation will originate in Jalisco and operate into the United States and the rest of the world through international air services such as UPS Worldwide Express PlusSM, UPS Worldwide ExpressSM, UPS Worldwide Express SaverSM, UPS Worldwide ExpeditedSM, UPS ExpressSM Freight, and air cargo.  UPS continues to offer the widest variety of transportation options while expanding its capacities to provide greater support for its supply chain.

"Jalisco is a key state for Mexico in terms of economics and geography," added Castillo.  "This will benefit the enterprises that operate in this area by enabling them to provide better import and export services while improving competitiveness in the western region."
