UPS Supports Programs During the GFFIS to Foster Environmental Education and to Raise Sustainability
Seoul, Korea, May 9, 2013 - UPS (NYSE: UPS), a global leader
in logistics, today announced that it is sponsoring the Korean Green
Foundation's 10th Green Film Festival in Seoul (GFFIS). This year's theme is
"Nature found in the city, sings hope". The festival will be held from May 9th
to 16th, 2013 in Seoul.
Together with the Korea Green Foundation, UPS will be raising awareness on
protecting the environment through programs targeted towards children,
teenagers, green activists, environmental science students and the general
public. The programs include: UPS Green Together, a screening of 'green' films
for underprivileged people; distributing UPS Green Kits that contain educational
material on sustainability; and providing support to the production team.
In addition, UPS will be participating in the GFFIS's 'One more? No! One Less
Nuclear Power Plant!' campaign, which will be held from May 11th to 12th. This
campaign aims to raise public awareness that saving electricity and pursuing
eco-friendly efforts in everyday life can help reduce the number of nuclear
power plants. UPS will be participating in the one-to-one mentoring program as
part of the campaign, delivering meaningful sustainability messages to
