UPS Appoints JK Rha as Managing Director of UPS Korea
Press Release

Seoul, Korea, May 8, 2013 - UPS announced today the appointment of JK Rha as managing director for UPS Korea, replacing former Korea country manager, Steven Chang. Steven will be accepting new responsibilities as vice president for global sales at UPS.

Effective immediately, JK assumes responsibility for all express delivery and logistics operations for Korea in this new role. This includes marketing, business development, international trade services, industrial engineering, human resources, customer service, security, finance and accounting, supply chain solutions as well as ocean, air and ground operations.

During his career with UPS to date, JK has held key positions in various Asian markets - Korea, Hong Kong and Singapore. JK joined UPS in 1990 as an air operations supervisor at Gimpo International Airport, South Korea. He was soon promoted to the role of gateway manager in 1995, where he launched new and expanded ground-handling operations for UPS Korea at the cargo terminal of Gimpo International Airport.

JK was also responsible for setting up and managing UPS Korea's first-ever human resources department in 2001. JK was instrumental for spearheading initiatives in grooming future leaders, improving employee efficiencies and enhancing staff employment policies in the company.

"The appointment of JK as the new managing director for UPS Korea reflects the importance of South Korea in the UPS Asia strategy. For a country that holds much potential and is of significance to the regional business community, JK's commitment to continually improving business processes and efficiencies provides invaluable direction to our customers," said Brian J. Cusson, president of UPS North Asia district.

Prior to his current appointment, JK was the air export manager and package operations manager at UPS Korea, overseeing the organization's international distribution, freight transport and package operations.

JK holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Masters in Business Administration, both from the Chungang University, Seoul.
