Changes to China Mainland Customs Advanced Manifest Regulations

The General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China Mainland (GACC) has issued Order No. 56 (2017), adjusting the manifest requirements for air and ocean imports and exports, effective June 1, 2018.

Additional information elements under the revised requirements include:

  • Shipper enterprise code*
  • Contact identifier and contact number of the shipper
  • Consignee enterprise code*
  • Contact identifier and contact number of the consignee
  • Greater specificity of goods being shipped

The above information needs to be included in the commercial invoice or freight shipping orders. * Enterprise code refers to the code that the shipper/consignee registered in their country’s authority for doing business and definition varies by country.
