Associate Child Shipments with Consolidated Movements

Note: UPS Trade Direct is available only if you have a contract for this service.

Each child shipment must be associated with (or assigned to) a consolidated movement before the child shipment can be processed. This association can occur in one of two ways:

To select the consolidated movement before you process a child shipment:

  1. On the Activities menu, click Trade Direct Manager. The UPS Trade Direct Manager window appears.

  2. Do one of the following:

  3. If the desired open consolidated movement does not appear in the list, enter a new movement. See Enter Consolidated Movements.

  4. If the desired open consolidated movement appears in the list, select the consolidated movement from the list.

  1. Click the Select Movement button. The Select Consolidated Movement window appears.

  2. Read about the association between child shipments and consolidated movements and click the OK button.

    Tips:

  3. For more information on these associations, click the Help button in the Select Consolidated Movement window.

  4. If you do not want the Select Consolidated Movement window to appear each time you click the Select Movement button in the UPS Trade Direct Manager window, select the Do Not Show This Dialog Again check box.

The Shipping window appears.

  1. Process a child shipment. See Process UPS Small Package Child Shipments or Process LTL/TL Child Shipments.
