Process a UPS Mail Innovations Shipment

Note: UPS Mail Innovations is available only if you have a contract for this service.

To process a UPS Mail Innovations shipment:

  1. Under Shipper, select a shipper and a profile:

  2. Click the down arrow in the Shipper box and select a shipper.

  3. Click the down arrow in the Profile box and select a profile. This box becomes inactive once you begin typing information for the shipment.

  1. Specify the Ship To address. See Address Guidelines.

    Note:
    The first bullet item under Notes in the Specify the Ship To Address help topic does not apply to a UPS Mail Innovations shipment. If UPS WorldShip is in Label Certification mode, the Distribution tab is removed when you select a UPS Mail Innovations service in the UPS Service box on the Service tab.

  2. Specify the Ship From address.

    Note:
    The address must be from the US 48.

  3. On the Service tab:

    Note:
    Your entries in the Package Type, Length, Width, and Height boxes appear on both the Service and Detail tabs. Your entries in the Package ID and Cost Center boxes appear on both the Service and Reference tabs. You can change your entries on either tab.

  4. Click the down arrow in the UPS Service box and select a service type. See UPS Service Codes for UPS Mail Innovations Shipments.

    Note:
    If you select the Freight or World Ease check box, a message asks you to confirm your choice. If you click Yes, UPS Mail Innovations services do not appear in the UPS Service box.

  5. Click the down arrow in the Endorsement box and select an endorsement type if applicable.

    Note:
    This box does not appear if the Package Type box shows BPM Flats or Standard Flats or if the UPS Service box shows Priority Mail Innovations or Economy Mail Innovations.

  6. Click the down arrow in the Package Type box and select a type. See Package Type Codes and Weight Limits for UPS Mail Innovations.

  7. Type the package dimensions in the Length, Width, and Height boxes or use the electronic dimensioner (if available).  The total package dimension cannot exceed 130 inches. To determine the total dimension, measure the package length and then add twice the width and twice the height.

  8. Type the package ID in the Package ID box.

  9. Type the cost center in the Cost Center box.

  10. Leave Shipper in the Bill Transportation To box to indicate the shipper will pay for the transportation, duty, and taxes.

  11. Type the weight of the package in the Package box or use the electronic scale or dimensioner (if available). For information on weight limits, see Package Type Codes and Weight Limits for UPS Mail Innovations.

    Note:
    The Unit of Measure system preference determines if the weight appears in Metric or Imperial. See Set Shipping System Preferences.

  1. On the Options tab, select the USPS Delivery Confirmation check box under Package Options as needed. See Shipment and Package Options.

  2. On the Detail tab:

    Note:
    Your entries in the Package Type, Length, Width, and Height boxes appear on both the Service and Detail tabs. You can change your entries on either tab.

  3. Click the down arrow in the Package Type box and select a type. See Package Type Codes.

  4. Type the package dimensions in the Length, Width, and Height boxes. The total package dimension cannot exceed 130 inches. To determine the total dimension, measure the package length and then add twice the width and twice the height.

  5. Type a description in the Merchandise Description for Package box.

  6. Type any instructions in the Special Instructions for Shipment box.

  1. On the Reference tab:

    Your entries in the Package ID and Cost Center boxes appear on both the Service and Reference tabs. You can change your entries on either tab.

  2. Type the package ID in the Package ID box.

  3. Type the cost center in the Cost Center box.

  4. Type up to three reference numbers in the Reference Number boxes. For information on setting defaults for these three boxes, see Specify the Reference Numbers.

  1. On the Customs Documentation tab, record the export document and goods details for an international shipment.  See Provide International Documentation Info for UPS Mail Innovations Shipments.

  2. When you are finished, click the Process Shipment button. The following print:

  3. UPS Mail Innovations label.

  4. Customs Declaration CN 22 (if you select the Print CN 22 check box and provide the range of USPS numbers on the UPS Mail Innovations tab in the Shipper Editor window). See Add or Modify a Shipper.

  5. Doc label (shipment and/or package).
