Specify Goods Details on the Goods Grid

Under Goods on the Customs Documentation tab, supply the details for the goods based on the International documents required for your shipment.

Complete the goods details as follows:

  1. Click the Search Commodities button to display the International Commodity Search window. See Search for and Select a Commodity for an International Shipment.

  2. Select the Request Duties and Taxes check box to save the estimated duties and taxes in Shipment History.

    Tip:
    The estimated duties and taxes are saved in Shipment History, and the Duties and Taxes button in the Shipment History window becomes active only if you select this check box.

  3. Select the Save/Update Commodities check box to save/update the commodity information to the Commodity Editor.

  4. Specify the goods details using the grid and the following fields:

  5. Document Check Boxes - Select the appropriate check box(es) for  the document(s).

    Note:
    An Invoice check box does not appear in the Good grid. The Invoice fields are available only when you select the Create an Invoice check box. The fields in the grid are not available for Customs Value.

  6. Description of Good - Type a description of the good or click the down arrow and select a previously entered description.

  7. Part Number - Type the part number of the good.

  8. Tariff Code - Type a tariff code or click the Tariff Code Lookup button to search for the tariff code. See Search For and Select a Tariff Code.

  9. Country/Territory of Origin - Click the down arrow and select a country/territory of origin.

  10. Units - Type how many of this good you are shipping.

  11. Unit of Measure - Click the down arrow and select how you are measuring the units (such as dozen, barrel, or pair).

  12. Unit Price - Type the price of a single unit of the good.

  13. Currency - The currency that applies to the good appears. Read-only.

  14. Marks and Numbers - Type any marks and numbers that appear on the package containing the good.

  15. License Exception and Exception Code - Select this check box if you have a license exception and then click the down arrow in the Exception Code box and select an entry that identifies your exception. For definitions of the Exception codes, see License Exception Codes.

  16. License Number and Expiration Date - Type your license number if you do not have a license exception and then type the date on which your license to ship the current good is no longer valid in the Expiration Date box or click the down arrow and select the calendar date.

  17. ECCN - Type an Export Control Commodity Number (ECCN).

  18. Schedule B Number - Type the 10-digit (numbers only) Schedule B number of the good.

  19. Schedule B Units 1 - Type how many Schedule B units of the current good are in your shipment. Required if the Unit of Measure 1 box displays an entry other than No Quantity Required. You can type any integer between 1 and 9,999,999.

  20. Unit of Measure 1 - Click the down arrow and select the first unit of measure for the current good.

  21. Gross Weight - Type the total weight of all units of the good (between 0.1 and 99,999.9).

  22. Lbs, Kgs - Click the down arrow and select Lbs or Kgs to identify whether the weight you specified is pounds or kilograms.

  23. Schedule B Units 2 - Type how many Schedule B units of the current good are in your shipment. Required if the Unit of Measure 2 box displays an entry other than No Quantity Required. You can type any integer between 1 and 9,999,999.

  24. Unit of Measure 2 - Click the down arrow and select the second unit of measure for the current good. Required if an entry appears in the Schedule B Units 2 box.

  25. D/F/M - Click the down arrow and select D (Domestic), F (Foreign), or M (Military).

  26. DDTC Registration Number - Type a Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) registration number.

  27. DDTC SME - Select this check box to indicate DDTC Significant Military Equipment (SME).

  28. DDTC Eligible Party Certification Number - Select this check box to indicate DDTC Eligible Party Certification Number.

  29. DDTC USML Category Code - Type a DDTC USML category code.

  30. DDTC Quantity - Type a number to indicate the quantity.

  31. DDTC Unit of Measure - Click the down arrow and select a measurement.

  32. DDTC License Line Number - Type the DDTC License Line number.

  33. Export Code - Click the down arrow and select a code. See Export Codes.

  34. Number of Packages Containing Good - Type how many boxes in the shipment contain at least one of the good.

  35. Preference Criterion - Click the down arrow and select a preference criterion. See Preference Criteria Codes.

  36. Producer - Click the down arrow and select information about the producer. See Producer Codes.

  37. Multiple Countries/Territories of Origin - Select this check box if the good was manufactured in more than one NAFTA country.

  38. Net Cost Method - If the good is subject to a Regional Value Content (RVC) requirement, select this check box if the RVC is calculated according to the Net Cost Method. If you select this check box, type the period during which this method applies in the Period Start and Period End boxes or click the down arrow in these boxes and select the calendar days.

  1. Click the Tariff Code Lookup button to display the Tariff Code Lookup window. See Search for and Select a Tariff Code.

  2. Click the Estimate button to display an estimate of the duties and taxes for your shipment.

  3. Use the following buttons if needed:

  4. To delete a good from the grid, select the good and click the Delete button.

  5. To delete all the goods from the grid, click the Delete All button. A confirmation message asks "Are you sure you want to delete all records?" Click the Yes button to continue.
