Reference Qualifier

Identifies the package you are shipping with a customized reference number.

The reference qualifier consists of three parts:

• Description - The type of reference qualifier, such as Bill of Lading Number, Department Number, or FDA Product Code.

• Label - The information that appears on the label, such as Bill Coding, Dept No, or FDA Product.

• Qualifier - The two-character code that is included in the shipment information sent to the UPS Data Center, such as BM, DP, or 3Q.

You can add customized reference qualifiers by selecting the Reference Qualifier Editor on the Tools menu.
