In order to print UPS World Ease labels using Thermal 4 x 11 label stock, you must set up a printing setup system preference. You can use your primary thermal label printer to print these labels or use a secondary thermal label printer dedicated to printing only World Ease labels. To set up your primary thermal label printer, see Set Up for Thermal 4 x 11 Labels (Primary Printer).
Important Tips:
UPS World Ease is available only if you have a contract for this service.
Only one printer can be set up to print Thermal 4 x 11 labels. If your primary thermal label printer is set up to print these labels, change that printer preference before setting up a secondary thermal label printer to print Thermal 4 x 11 labels.
To set up a secondary thermal label printer to print Thermal 4" x 11" World Ease labels:
On the Tools menu, click System Preferences. The System Preferences Editor window appears.
On the Printing Setup tab,
select the Use Separate World Ease Printer check box. The World Ease Label
Printer Setup window appears.
Alternative Steps:
To change the existing secondary printer, select the World Ease Labels tab and click the Label Printer Setup button. The World Ease Label Printer Setup window appears. Continue to step 3.
To delete the secondary label printer, clear the Use Separate World Ease Printer check box. The Regular Labels and World Ease Labels tabs are replaced by the current label configuration for the primary thermal label printer. See Set Up for Thermal 4 x 11 Labels (Primary Printer).
Under Printer, click the Change World Ease Label Printer button. The Printer Selection window appears.
Select your thermal label printer and click the Select button. The World Ease Label Printer Setup window appears again.
Under Label Configuration, confirm that the Label Stock Dimensions box shows Thermal 4x11 and the Extended Area Usage box shows World Ease Label.
Click the Apply button. Two tabs appear on the Printing Setup tab in the System Preferences Editor window:
Click the Regular Labels tab to show information about your primary printer. To change your primary printer configuration, see Set Up a Label Printer.
Click the World Ease Labels tab to show information about your secondary printer.
On the World Ease Labels tab, under Current Label Configuration, verify that Label Printer shows your printer, Label Stock Dimensions shows Thermal 4x11, and Extended Area Usage shows World Ease Label.
Click the down arrow in each This Reference No. Prints on the Label box and select a reference number to appear on the label.
Click the Print Test Label button to make sure your printer is correctly set up for UPS WorldShip. If the label does not print correctly, recheck your configuration.
Tip: The reference numbers will not print on the test label; however, the reference numbers will print on a real label.
