After you become an authorized AESDirect user with Option 4 filing status, you can submit Shipper's Export Declaration (SED) information up to 10 days after shipment exportation. See Complete SED with AESDirect.
To enable this AES Post Departure option:
On the Tools menu, click Shipper Editor. The Shipper Editor window appears.
Select the shipper from the Existing Shipper Numbers box and click the Modify button. The Modify Shipper window appears.
Click the International tab.
Under Shipper’s Export Declaration, select AES Option 4 Post Departure.
Click the OK button. The Shipper Editor window appears.
Click the Close button.
To process an International shipment:
Complete the information on the Ship To, Service, Options, and Documents tabs as usual.
On the Ship From tab, type the Tax ID Number in the Tax ID Number box. Then click the down arrow in the Tax ID Type box and select the type of Tax ID Number used in the Tax ID Number box.
Click the Process Shipment button. A message asks you to confirm that you will be filing an SED electronically within 10 days.
Click the Yes or No button.
