Note: The following task is available only if you are working on a Local Area Network (LAN) administrative workstation.
During installation of UPS WorldShip, all LAN remote workstations are configured to allow use of certain features only. The LAN administrator can, however, change the configuration of specific remote workstations to allow access to additional features.
To configure one or more LAN remote workstations:
Determine the task configurations you want to change. See Configuration Checklist for LAN Remote Workstations.
On the Remote Workstations
menu, click Configure Workstations. The Configure Workstations window
appears.
Tip: You can also access this window
by clicking the Configure button in the Workstations window.
Under Workstation, select
the check box next to each workstation for which you want to change the
configuration.
Tips:
The updated configuration is applied only to workstations for which you select the corresponding check boxes.
To select all the check boxes, click the Check All button. To clear all the check boxes, click the Uncheck All button.
Select a configuration checklist on which to base this configuration, as follows:
To use the current configuration checklist for a specific workstation, select the workstation name under Workstation (without selecting its check box). The check boxes for the features allowed for that workstation are selected under Select Features for This Workstation.
To use the basic settings configuration checklist, click the Basic Settings button. The check boxes for the basic settings are selected under Select Features for This Workstation.
To use a custom
default configuration checklist, click the Show Default button. The check
boxes for the custom default features are selected under Select Features
for This Workstation.
Tip: The Show Default button is inactive
if a custom default configuration checklist has not been created. See
Create or Change the Custom Default Configuration
Checklist.
Under Select Features for This Workstation, update the configuration, as needed, by selecting and clearing the check boxes next to the appropriate features.
Click the Apply to Checked Workstations button. After WorldShip successfully changes the configuration for the specified remote workstations, a message states "Those workstations must restart for your changes to take place."
Click the OK button. The Configure Workstations window appears.
Click the Close button.
Notes:
You may want to send a message to all remote workstations affected by these updates. See Send Messages to Other Workstations.
If a task is in use and cannot be used simultaneously by two or more workstations (such as End of Day) or if one task is dependent on another task, WorldShip may lock the task and prevent its use from some workstations.
If a user attempts a task that is locked, a message explains that the task cannot be completed or states the actions that must be completed before attempting the task again.
