Click the Options tab in the Shipping window to determine the availability of shipment-level and package-level options. A shipment-level option applies to all packages in a shipment. A package-level option applies only to a single package in a shipment.
Note: Refer to the UPS Rate and Service Guide for more information on these options, including availability and commit times in your area. For information on obtaining this guide, see Use the UPS Rate and Service Guide.
The following options may appear under Shipment Options and/or Package Options:
A shipment from any origin to any destination that requires additional handling due to its size or packaging is assessed an Additional Handling charge per package.
This charge applies to:
Any article that is encased in an outside shipping container made of metal, wood, expanded polystyrene foam, or like materials.
Any cylindrical item, such as a barrel, drum, pail, or tire, that is not fully encased in a corrugated cardboard shipping container.
Any package for which the length exceeds 60 inches or the width exceeds 30 inches.
Any package with an actual weight equal to or more than 70 pounds but less than or equal to 90 pounds and that does not have a Large Package Surcharge.
If WorldShip is in Shipment Entry processing mode and you select the Additional Handling shipment option check box, the Number of Packages box does not appear. WorldShip applies Additional Handling to all packages in the shipment.
Ground Freight option - A request initiated by the shipper to Ground Freight to call a customer as a condition necessary for delivery, or to make arrangements for customer pickup at a UPS Freight Service Center.
UPS accepts COD shipments for delivery to any destination. This option allows you to sell to customers without extending credit or requiring prepayment.
When you select this option and type the COD amount in the Amount box, the COD information prints on the label. The UPS driver scans the label and is alerted to collect payment upon delivery. Your customer pays the UPS driver for the cost of the package, and UPS sends this payment to you.
Notes:
If you select the Cashier’s Check/Money Order Only check box, the UPS driver accepts only a cashier’s check, money order, official bank check, or similar instrument for the exact amount of the COD package as shown in the Amount box. If you do not select this check box, the UPS driver can also accept a business or personal check. UPS does not accept cash (currency) in any amount for a COD package.
If you select the Add Shipping Charges To COD check box, the UPS driver collects the amount shown in the Amount box plus a shipping charge. The total amount to be collected appears in the package description under Options in the Shipment History window and on the package label and the Daily Shipment Detail Report.
The amount added to the COD Amount is the charge for that package only, not the entire shipment.
For Hundredweight shipments within the US, the rate that would have applied to the package if it were shipped as a single-piece shipment is added to the COD amount.
An additional charge applies for each COD.
For Ground Freight shipments, provide the amount, payment method, and payment type in the appropriate boxes.

The total invoice amount (excluding discounts, freight, insurance, and other charges) for a US to Puerto Rico or Canada shipment. This amount is required by US Customs and must be equal to the Invoice line total of the shipment.
A dangerous good is a substance that is capable of posing an unreasonable risk to health, safety, or property when transported in commerce. UPS accepts packages containing dangerous goods on a contract-only basis.
All dangerous goods tendered to UPS for shipment must be classified, packaged, marked, and labeled in accordance with the UPS Guide for Shipping Ground and Air Hazardous Materials in effect at the time of shipment and all applicable government laws and regulations. The origin and destination of the shipment as well as the mode of transportation determine the valid regulation set.
You must set up to produce the appropriate dangerous goods documentation as follows:
If you plan to export the dangerous goods data to a CSV-formatted file and then generate the dangerous goods documentation, use WorldShip or an external third party dangerous goods application for printing.
If you plan to use an external third party dangerous goods application, the system must be configured through the 32-bit ODBC Administrator prior to using the dangerous goods option.
You must attach a UPS Shipping Paper for Dangerous Goods to each dangerous goods package. Also, you must give your UPS driver a UPS Shipper’s Certificate for Dangerous Goods (a manifest for all the dangerous goods picked up from a single address by a UPS vehicle). UPS cannot accept your package without these two pieces of documentation.
For more information regarding shipment preparation and materials accepted by UPS, refer to the UPS Guide for Shipping Ground and Air Dangerous Goods or call the UPS Hazardous Materials Support Center.
