ATLANTA, March 4, 2008 - UPS (NYSE:UPS) today was rated "America's Most Admired" company in its industry in an annual survey conducted by FORTUNE magazine. The company also was ranked among the Top 20 in brand recognition across all industries both in the United States and around the world.
UPS posted the highest average score of any airline, railroad, trucking or logistics company ranked by the magazine; was ranked in the top 10 nationwide across all industries on four of the eight attributes used to compile the rankings, and was ranked No. 1 on seven of the eight attributes within its industry category.
UPS scored second among all companies for its commitment to social responsibility; second among all companies for its financial soundness; sixth among all companies for the quality of its products and services, and sixth among all companies for the quality of its management. Within its industry sector, UPS ranked No. 1 in each of those four attributes as well as in rankings for people management, use of corporate assets and long-term investment.
