An end user incorporates the UPS OnLine® Tools into their company's e-commerce-enabled applications to improve their business processes. An example would be to incorporate UPS OnLine Tracking tool into your customer service call center application. This allows your company's customer service representatives to find the status of orders and shipments while they are on the phone with customers. Another example would be to integrate the UPS Tracking tool into your order entry system on your Web site. Your customers could track their orders directly from your site performing self-service and reducing the demands on your call center.

A third party developer is an Application Service Provider (ASP), software developer or Independent Software Vendor (ISV) that integrates the UPS OnLine Tools into a product or application that is sold directly or indirectly to the public. An example could be an accounting software company that integrates the tools into their application, or a CRM provider that integrates the tools into application.
