How do I back up, restore, or create a new UPS WorldShip database?
How to back up a database:
Shut down WorldShip
®
.
Navigate to the
Start
button.
Select
Programs/All Programs->UPS->UPS WorldShip Support Utility
.
Select
Data Maintenance
.
Under Database Operations, select
Backup
.
Browse to the location where the database is to be backed up.
Note:
Location will default to install drive:\UPS\WSTD\Support\DBSupport
You have the option to include the
NRFRvlDB
in the backup by selecting the checkbox. Select
Backup
.
A message will display when the backup is complete. Select
OK
, then
Exit
.
How to restore a database from a backup:
Shut down WorldShip.
Navigate to the
Start
button.
Select
Programs/All Programs->UPS->UPS WorldShip Support Utility
.
Select
Data Maintenance
.
Under Database Operations, select
Restore
.
Browse to the location of the database that you want restored or highlight a file name from the list of available backups.
Select the file set or the type of files you want restored.
Note:
File set will default to All.
Select the
Restore
button, then select
Yes
to make a backup copy of your files.
Select
OK
on the restore files dialog and on the success dialog at the end of the restore process.
Exit the Support Utility.
How to create a new database:
Shut down WorldShip.
Navigate to the
Start
button.
Select
Programs/All Programs->UPS->UPS WorldShip Support Utility
.
Select
Data Maintenance
.
Under Database Operations, select
Advanced
.
Select
Create New
, choose the database you want to create, then select
OK
.
Note:
The WorldShip database is selected by default.
Select
Yes
or
No
to this message:
Would you like to make a backup of your current system first?
Select
OK
to this message:
Successfully Restored System
.
Exit the Support Utility.
Launch WorldShip.
Commission a new Shipper Number.
