Fully Regulated Material - Ground Service

The "Ground and Air Packaging Provision Exceptions" column of the chemical table indicates that there are no exceptions to the requirements for preparing this hazardous material for transport. Generally, this means the material must be accurately classified and described, packaged in a specification package, marked, labeled, documented, and certified before being offered to your carrier.

The material used in this example is Hexamethyleneimine, 3 (8), UN2493, PG II. For this material, the "Ground Shipments - Maximum Quantity Per Inner Receptacle" column is blank. Therefore, as the shipper, you are responsible for selecting and using UN packaging that has been designed, tested, and certified to accommodate containers used. The maximum number of inner receptacles of this product that can be shipped in a single performance package is limited by the design and instructions that come with the specific UN performance package used and by the UPS limit of 70 lb gross weight for any hazardous materials package.
Air Service Example

Note: Ground packages destined to or from Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico must be prepared according to air regulations.

If you have any questions about shipping hazardous materials with UPS, please call the UPS Hazardous Materials Support Center at 1-800-554-9964.
