Address Validation is an automatic function that verifies the city, state, and postal code combination of any U.S. Ship To address. If UPS is unable to validate the combination, you will have the option to use a suggested address from an address database, revise the original address, or use the original address.
Detailed Address Validation is a function you can select to validate the street number range and the suite/apartment range of your Ship To address for U.S. to U.S. shipments. If UPS is unable to validate the combination, you will be offered suggested ranges from an address database.

The Address Validation page displays when the Enable Address Validation checkbox is selected. This checkbox is located on the Begin Your Shipment page, Add Shipping Options page, and the Edit Ship To Address page. To turn Address Validation off, uncheck the box on any of these pages. You can also set a preference on the Shipping Preferences page by selecting the Always Perform Address Validation checkbox. This is only available for addresses within the U.S.

If you select more than one package on the Begin Your Shipment page, you will be taken to the Add Shipping Options page, where you can complete the Package Information section for each of your packages. Your shipment may include up to 20 packages.

Setting your shipping preferences gives you the convenience of processing single-piece shipments (shipments containing one package) using the same shipping characteristics over and over, without re-entering your shipping options. The shipping preferences will automatically be used for each new shipment you process, as long as you ship using the same shipping characteristics. |

After you have logged in, select the Shipping tab at the top of the page. Then select View History or Void Shipment in the Create a Shipment area. You can select one, seven, or 30 days of Shipping History to view.
You can also select a custom date range to be displayed. Your history is available for viewing for up to 90 days or up to 500 shipments, whichever comes first.
You can customize the fields that are displayed and their sequence by editing the settings on the Shipping Preferences page. You can also export your history to a .csv file for processing on your computer. Select any date range as described above and then select Export Current View.

To ship a package with details similar to an existing package in your shipping history, select the radio button next to the shipment containing the package, and then select Ship Again.

The Shipper's Export Declaration (SED) is used by the U.S. Census Bureau to compile trade statistics and to help prevent illegal exports. The SED and instructions on how to fill it out are available from a variety of sources, including UPS.com, the U.S. Government Printing Office (202-512-0000), and the U.S. Census Bureau's home page at www.census.gov/foreign-trade/www.
You can select from three filing options for your SED:
- Print a blank SED and fill it out manually.
- File your SED through UPS for a US$10 fee.
- File online using AESDirect. (Details below in "What is AESDirect?")

The U.S. Census Bureau uses the Automated Export System (AESDirect) to capture and store U.S. export data electronically. The U.S. Census Bureau provides AESDirect free of charge to all exporters for electronic filing of the Shipper Export Declaration (SED) at the AESDirect Web site.
UPS Internet Shipping can help you file your SED with AESDirect. To take advantage of this feature, you must register with the AESDirect Web site at www.aesdirect.gov. After you register, step-by-step instructional help is accessible within the UPS Create a Shipment application. For more information on AESDirect, call 1-877-715-4433 in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.

Packages prepared using UPS Internet Shipping are accepted free of charge at UPS Drop boxes, UPS Customer Centers, and Authorized Shipping Outlets.
For all other locations please call to confirm that the location accepts UPS Internet Shipping packages. To locate the nearest UPS location, select Shipping from the area at the top of the page. Then select Find Locations. |
